World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be seen on all item tooltips. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it is capable of causing. The level of the item can be used to compare items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories on how the item level calculation is done. One theory suggests that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine the worth of the stats of an item really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This could result in a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, since the size of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, for instance by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the best." The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.

item upgrader  to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by naming them.

Presently, all affixes are able to be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circling arrows. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of those properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more valuable in the early game than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
